Trouvé perdu
[solo]
Gilles Poizat / flugelhorn, vocals & modular synthesizer At the crossing between free music, pop songs and experimental electronics, Gilles Poizat offers a joyfull performance, singing, blowing his fluegelhorn and riding his wild electronic set-up. « Song as performance [...], a man, a trumpet and machines in unknown lands and yet so welcoming, so instinctively obvious to the body and the intellect. » Renaud Sachet / Section26 « Gilles Poizat is averse to demonstrations of force, and prefers to throw his dice into the air, which are ritornelles, little dancers more or less fiery and watch them lovingly turn and advance everywhere at once like miniature tornadoes. It may seem exaggerated but really, in its vignettes no less tender than carried away, where music is everywhere everywhere, I always find a thousand and one reasons to love life a bit more intensely, that is to say patiently and simply (since listening to Gilles Poizat is like following the course of a stream, like learning to recognize birds, like throwing the little one on a bike without the small wheels for the first time, like the surprise of the first kiss that starts again etc etc). » Sing Sing (Arlt) This new solo follows the album Champignon Flamme, released in early 2021 on Carton Records. He uses the same device, trumpet and modular synth, with the addition of vocals. About Champignon Flamme, Jacques Denis wrote in Libération: "A thousand details inhabit this soundtrack, strange atmospheres that are reminiscent of Jon Hassell's delicate interlacing, or Don Cherry's meditative escapades when he rode his nomadic trumpet. There is the same sense of phrasing, freed from all emphasis, a stretching of sound that puts the idea of time into perspective, a spherical scroll whose fragile escarpments constitute as fragile as sure challenges to harmonic verticality." Inaugurated at Les Instants Chavirés (Montreuil) in November 2021, this solo has since been performed elsewhere in France, Switzerland and Belgium. The album trouvé perdu was released on 1rst March 2024 by Carton Records in vinyl LP and La République des Granges on cassette. It has been recorded and mixed by Ernest Bergez (Sourdure), masterised by Simon Henocq and illustrated by Rémi Pollio. ![]() ![]() |
